2025 – A Year in Real Estate Photography
Reflections, lessons, and a look at what’s coming next for 2026.
As the year winds down and Perth slows into its sun-soaked holiday rhythm, we’ve had a chance to reflect on what 2025 brought to the real estate photography world – and where we see things heading in the year ahead.
What we noticed this year
If there was one word for 2025, it was expectation. Sellers expected more polished marketing. Agents expected faster turnaround. And buyers expected listings to tell the full story – visually and digitally.
We saw greater demand for virtual tours, especially on homes priced for serious interstate or overseas interest. Floor plans became less of a “nice to have” and more of a standard inclusion. And drone photography really found its place – not just for prestige homes, but for properties where location was the story.
Lessons from the field
One thing that hasn’t changed: preparation is everything. The best photos still come from homes that are thoughtfully presented. We spent a lot of time this year helping clients troubleshoot last-minute styling issues, de-clutter problem spots, and even rethink shoot timing due to light or weather.
And yes, Matterport still has its limits (especially with small or oddly shaped spaces), but it remains a powerful tool when used right. That’s been part of our role – guiding clients not just in choosing services, but in understanding where each one shines.
Looking ahead to 2026
We expect the new year to bring even sharper focus on time-saving, transparency, and visual trust. Buyers want to know exactly what they’re walking into – and agents who deliver that clarity will stand out.
On our end, that means continuing to invest in tools that tell the whole story of a property: clean floor plans, immersive tours, and photography that doesn’t just show, but sells. We’re also working on ways to streamline booking and prep resources to make life easier for our clients (more on that soon).
Thank you! 🙂
To our clients – thank you for trusting us this year. Whether it was a million-dollar stunner in the hills or a tight terrace in the city, we’ve loved helping you present each home in its best light.
